THE FOUNDER STORY, CHAPTER ONE

BELINDA
SLUSHER

Creative director of a house built out of everything that was supposed to end her.

Portrait of Belinda Slusher

She does not describe herself as a survivor. She describes herself as evidence.

Threads of Kaos was not sketched in a studio with a mood board and a market forecast. It was assembled in the aftermath, in rooms with bad lighting, in the hours between shifts, in the long quiet after the worst of it had already happened.

Belinda designs the way she rebuilt: slowly, deliberately, refusing to hide the seams. Every silhouette in the house carries the same logic. Nothing pretends the damage never happened. Everything insists the damage was not the ending.

01

SURVIVING CHAOS

The years she does not romanticise

Addiction. Loss. The kind of instability that rearranges what you believe about yourself. She will not dress those years up. They were not a lesson plan and they were not a gift. They were survival, one hour at a time, with no guarantee attached.

What she keeps from them is not the pain. It is the proof that she kept choosing the next hour anyway.

02

REBUILDING IDENTITY

Learning her own name again

Coming back is not one moment. It is a thousand small reintroductions to yourself. Learning what you actually like. Learning how you actually speak when nobody is being managed. Learning that the version of you people were used to was never the whole inventory.

She rebuilt in layers, the way you build a garment, and she kept only what could hold weight.

03

PAIN INTO PURPOSE

A use for what was left over

Purpose did not arrive as a calling. It arrived as a refusal to let the wreckage go to waste. If she had carried all of that, she was going to make something out of it, something other people could put on their body and walk out the door wearing.

04

RECOVERY

The unglamorous discipline

Recovery is not a transformation montage. It is repetition. It is the same decision made again on a day when nothing about it feels earned. It is the most demanding creative practice she has ever kept, and it is the one that taught her how to finish things.

05

MOTHERHOOD

Rebuilding while being watched

Her children were the audience for the reconstruction. That changes the work. You cannot perform recovery for a child, they read the room faster than any adult. So she did it honestly, in front of them, and let them see a person becoming someone rather than pretending to have always been her.

Everything in this house is made with the understanding that somebody is watching you rebuild.

06

CREATIVE TRANSFORMATION

Chaos, cut and sewn

The design language came from the inside out. Distress used as record, not as trend. Gold used sparingly, the way you would use it on something repaired. Heavy blacks and bone. Sigils as private language for people who recognise each other without speaking.

07

THREADS OF KAOS

The house she opened

A label made deliberately, in small runs, made to order, refusing the disposable rhythm of the industry it sits inside. Luxury streetwear for people whose history is not decorative.

08

FOR THE REBUILT

Built for everyone else who is still here

The brand exists because she was not the only one. There is an entire population of people carrying histories they do not discuss, doing the work quietly, showing up anyway. This is their uniform.

IN THE HOUSE

Belinda Slusher in the Threads of Kaos warehouse wearing the brand's signature hoodie, founder, creator, survivor.

The same hands that once held chaos now hold the thread.

“Chaos didn't break me, it refined me.”
